This popular basketball program provides the perfect balance of skill work and game play for players of all abilities.  So whether you are a beginner just learning the game or an advanced player looking to sharpen and improve your skills, every participant will receive proper instruction to both teach and improve all skill components of the game that will then be applied in a game setting at the end of each class.  The new format provides more weekday options while still allowing for an age and skill appropriate setting.

GAME ON! Sports 4 Girls | Grades: PreK – 4th 

Explore and learn a different sport every 1-2 weeks. We may cover basketball, soccer, tennis, softball, lacrosse, volleyball, and more in a FUN, nurturing and positive environment! From our years dedicated to working with girls, we have the unique games  and expertise to help each of your daughters to grow as a person and an athlete. As always, attention to  teamwork, sportsmanship, self-esteem, respect, giving, and goal setting are incorporated into our program as well.  A great way to expose and introduce your daughter to team sports!! This class is all about color, imagination and innovation. In this world we live in creativity is one of the most important skills. This class is all about the process and being creative in a group setting. We work with several mediums of paint such as acrylic, watercolor and oil. We also study famous artist and inventors as well as important techniques. The class is concentrated on building self-confidence, curiosity and wisdom. Fencing Club | Ages: 5-Adult – Register Online
These classes provide a great introduction to fencing and a forum for more advanced training. We’ll make this class fun as well as educational. Taught by Tsanko Hantov and Windy City Fencing. Tsanko competed in the 2000 Olympic Games and won a Bronze medal at the 2001 World Cup (England) in the Modern Pentathlon. He was a National Senior Champion in 1998, a National Junior Champion in 1995, and 1996 men’s epee in Bulgaria. Tsanko has coached fencing for more than ten years, and has extensive experience training fencers at all levels. He has been the head coach at Windy City Fencing since 2005. He is a graduate of the National Sports Academy in Sofia, Bulgaria. Instructor approval is needed for all advanced classes. Visit www.windycityfencing.com.

Learn the Japanese Olympic / Paralympic sport from our award winning staff of certified Black Belts. Menomonee Judo has become one of the largest and most successful Judo clubs in the United States. The program has produced countless local, regional, national and international champions over the years. The Judo club is led by Sensei Brett Wolf, the 2013 United States Olympic Committee Paralympic Judo Coach of the Year. Brett has been with the Menomonee Club since 1993. Taekwondo | Ages: 3 & Up – Register Online
These action-packed classes feature the secret arts and awesome techniques of Taekwondo (a Korean Martial Art). It’s an Olympic sport utilizing exciting blocks, kicks, and punches. Taekwondo also develops self control and discipline and teaches techniques that can be used for both self-defense and competition. Students will be instructed by Grand Master Kidd, a licensed instructor by the US Taekwondo Union with over 35 years of teaching experience. Master Kidd is a WTF-Kukkiwon certified eighth degree black belt, and is the highest non-Korean martial artist in Illinois. In order to achieve maximum results it is recommended students attend class twice weekly.

Hubbard Street Dance Chicago is among the most original forces in contemporary dance. The Youth Dance Program provides an in-depth dance education that focuses on creativity and the techniques that support contemporary dance, with classes for students ages 18 months to 18 years. With more than 80 classes weekly – plus a variety of fun performance opportunities – all taught by Chicago’s finest professional faculty, there’s something here for everyone.

Chicago Loves Dance thrives on bringing the art of dance directly to communities all over the Chicago-land area. Students will follow along to interactive dance leads, learn choreography to the newest pop/dance songs, show off their creativity in freestyle dance circles and more. Chicago Loves Dance runs on the philosophy that dance should open your child’s creative abilities and be FUN! We pride ourselves on teaching the self-esteem and socialization needed in everyday life through the activity of dance and performance. For the last 15 minutes of class on the last day of the program parents will be welcome to watch their children show off all their hard work and perform the choreography they have learned and helped create throughout the session.

At Emerald city Theatre, we love to have fun! We know that children who participate in theater have greater self-confidence, improved literacy and math skills, and greater problem solving skills. Our weekly programs heavily focus on team building, communication and listening skills, storytelling techniques, and self-esteem. Description: Navigating high school is no joke, especially when you have to figure out if you’re predator or prey in the jungle of school cliques. A new musical adaptation of the hit movie explores what happens when new students adjust to high school’s social politics. What is the cost of popularity…and is it worth it? Students will be challenged to explore character motivation and objectives in this fun comedy that gets at the heart of what it means to be a friend, an enemy, and a Plastic.

Little Hoopers Youth Basketball | Boys and Girls Ages: 3–5

3Point Athletics’ dedicated instructors will conduct weekly 45-minute clinics as an introduction to basketball and physical fitness for you and your children. Classes will be adult interactive as participants learn the fundamentals of the sport with an emphasis on dribbling and ball handling. Classes will include basic footwork and hand-eye coordination drills and games, as well as learning the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship. Lil’ Sluggers is a child development program created to introduce children ages 2-6 to the game of baseball. Classes develop important baseball skills such as throwing, catching, hitting, and base running. Lil’ Kickers Soccer for Kids | Ages: 18 months-5 years

Lil’ Kickers is a non-competitive, introductory soccer and movement skills program for boys and girls ages 18 months to 5 years. In Lil’ Kickers we don’t just teach soccer to kids, but use soccer to teach kids about teamwork and cooperation. Lil’ Kickers is the ultimate child development program. Shirley Ryan Ability Lab | Ages: 7–17, youth with physical disabilities

The Caring for Kids program provides year-round adaptive sports and recreation programs including two 4-week summer camps for youth ages 7–17 with physical disabilities. Caring for Kids also offers weekly judo in partnership with the Menomonee Judo Club on Saturdays.  The program also provides dance, yoga and karate classes at the Drucker Center through Yoga for the Special Child and Thousand Wave Martial Arts and Self-Defense Center.
