 Emerald City Theatre School | Ages: 5-15
At Emerald city Theatre, we love to have fun! We know that children who participate in theater have greater self-confidence, improved literacy and math skills, and greater problem solving skills. Our weekly programs heavily focus on team building, communication and listening skills, storytelling techniques, and self-esteem. Most importantly, Emerald City Theatre School students have fun while learning through play. We want to be your partner in raising an imaginative, loving, and confident child!


Emerald City – Beauty and the Beast | ages: 5-8

Description: Be our guest on a journey through France and discover a world where candelabras speak, clocks sing, and a spell must be broken! Join bookish Belle and gregarious Gaston as they discover the truth about the brusque Beast in the local castle. With a variety of memorable characters, students will take on roles to tell a tale as old as time based on the hit Broadway musical. Emerald City – Descendants | ages: 7-12 

Description: Fairy tales don’t end at happily ever after. When kids of infamous fairy tale villains are offered the chance to live in the United States of Auradon, they leap at the chance. But are their motives good or evil? Students will explore complex characters to create a final show that examines the choices we all have between good and evil. Emerald City – Hamilton | ages: 7-12 

Description: Join Laurens, Lafayette, Mulligan, and Hamilton in the revolution that made America the country it is today. Our Hamilton-inspired production will challenge students’ rhythm and storytelling skills while teaching about the founding of the country through contemporary rap, hip-hop, R&B, and pop music. Emerald City – Freaky Friday | ages: 7-12 

Description: When a mother and daughter magically switch bodies, it leads to a totally Freaky Friday! In this new musical adaptation of a comedy classic, Katherine and Ellie only have 24 hours to switch back before Katherine’s wedding! Emerald City – Advanced Teen Ensemble | ages: 11-15

Mean Girls: The Musical

Description: Navigating high school is no joke, especially when you have to figure out if you’re predator or prey in the jungle of school cliques. A new musical adaptation of the hit movie explores what happens when new students adjust to high school’s social politics. What is the cost of popularity…and is it worth it? Students will be challenged to explore character motivation and objectives in this fun comedy that gets at the heart of what it means to be a friend, an enemy, and a Plastic.

Wicked

Take a trip to the Emerald City with Elphaba, Glinda, and Fiyero. A smash-hit musical prequel to The Wizard of Oz, Wicked will take campers to the next level in their performance skills with fantastic music, dance, and a story of being true to yourself. Learn what makes the Wicked Witch wicked, and the Good Witch good. Matilda

Go on a magical journey led by Matilda, the smartest and most clever girl in school! Based on the beloved Roald Dahl novel, this is an extraordinary tale of underdogs who win big. Armed with sharp minds and vivid imaginations, students will work their magic to defeat the Trunchbull and learn songs from the Tony Award-winning musical. Annie

Leapin’ Lizards! Annie, Miss Hannigan, Rooster, and more will be singing and dancing their way to Easy Street in this musical adventure class. Students will explore the world of their favorite spunky heroine along with her loyal sidekick dog, Sandy, singing orphans, and New Yorkers to present a final show you’ll still be humming tomorrow. Advanced Teen Ensemble:

Best of Broadway

Combining some of Broadway’s biggest hits from classics like Newsies, Into the Woods, and Sound of Music to contemporary smash hits like Hamilton, Wicked, and Dear Evan Hansen and more! Students will focus on the finer details of performing musical theatre with an emphasis on dancing and vocal technique, to hone their skills and challenge them as performers. The final showcase will feature a number of Broadway hits, connected with characters created by the students.
