Emerald City – Superheroes AM | ages: 3.5-5

If you could be a superhero, what special powers would you have? This camp is perfect for small campers with heroic minds! Campers will discover their superpowers through dramatic adventures, storytelling escapades, and mighty movement to help save the world. Emerald City – Pirates & Mermaids AM | ages: 3.5-5

Ahoy Matey! If your child loves to explore life above and below the high seas, they’ll love our swashbuckling Pirates and Mermaids camp! Campers will embark on a nautical journey as they develop their very own pirate and mermaid characters, solve treasure hunts, learn songs, and crack secret codes. Emerald City – Trolls | ages: 5-6

Help Poppy and Branch save Troll Village! Campers will use their bodies, voices, and imaginations to explore the colorful world of Trolls. Campers will explore their emotions with the sunny, optimistic Trolls and the droopy, pessimistic Bergens, and share their adventure in a heart-warming final show for family and friends on the last day of camp that’s sure to be hair-raising! Emerald City Advanced Camp – Matilda | ages: 7-13

Go on a magical journey led by Matilda, the smartest and most clever girl in school! Based on the beloved Roald Dahl novel, this is an extraordinary tale of underdogs who win big. Armed with sharp minds and vivid imaginations, campers will work their magic to defeat the Trunchbull and learn songs from the Tony Award-winning musical. Emerald City Advanced Camp – Wicked | ages: 9-13

Take a trip to the Emerald City with Elphaba, Glinda, and Fiyero. A smash-hit musical prequel to The Wizard of Oz, Wicked will take campers to the next level in their performance skills with fantastic music, dance, and a story of being true to yourself. Learn what makes the Wicked Witch wicked, and the Good Witch good. Campers will be sure to defy gravity during their final show. Emerald City Advanced Camp – Footloose | ages: 9-13

Campers will go on a journey where dance is brought back to the heart of a small town in our Footloose camp! In this stage musical phenomenon, campers will rock out to classic 80s anthems including “Holding Out for a Hero”, “Let’s Hear it for the Boy” and, of course, “Footloose!” With this high energy pop score, each camper will have the experience to act, sing, dance, and, of course, ‘cut Footloose!’ Based on the hit movies and stage show, campers will work on vocal techniques, dance training, and scene study. Join Laurens, Lafayette, Mulligan, and Hamilton in the revolution that made America the country it is today. Our Hamilton-inspired camp will challenge campers’ rhythm and storytelling skills while teaching about the founding of the country through contemporary rap, hip-hop, r&b, and pop music. At Emerald city Theatre, we love to have fun! We know that children who participate in theater have greater self-confidence, improved literacy and math skills, and greater problem solving skills. Our weekly programs heavily focus on team building, communication and listening skills, storytelling techniques, and self-esteem. Most importantly, Emerald City Theatre School students have fun while learning through play. We want to be your partner in raising an imaginative, loving, and confident child!


Emerald City – Beauty and the Beast | ages: 5-8

Description: Be our guest on a journey through France and discover a world where candelabras speak, clocks sing, and a spell must be broken! Join bookish Belle and gregarious Gaston as they discover the truth about the brusque Beast in the local castle. With a variety of memorable characters, students will take on roles to tell a tale as old as time based on the hit Broadway musical. Description: We just can’t Let It Go! The hit movie has been adapted into a spectacular Broadway musical, with fantastic new songs to complement favorites from the original. Join Elsa, Anna, Olaf, Kristoff, and Sven on a journey that’s sure to thaw even the iciest of hearts. But are their motives good or evil? Students will explore complex characters to create a final show that examines the choices we all have between good and evil. Mean Girls: The Musical

Description: Navigating high school is no joke, especially when you have to figure out if you’re predator or prey in the jungle of school cliques. A new musical adaptation of the hit movie explores what happens when new students adjust to high school’s social politics. What is the cost of popularity…and is it worth it? Students will be challenged to explore character motivation and objectives in this fun comedy that gets at the heart of what it means to be a friend, an enemy, and a Plastic.

The Youth Civic Light Opera of Chicago

 

The Youth Civic Light Opera of Chicago – an award-winning, nationally recognized, all-inclusive educational theater program is bringing out the best in youths on stage and behind the curtain at The Menomonee Club!
