Creative Summer Dance Camp
with Thodos Dance Chicago - register online
Grades: 5 – 10 (grade of child in Fall 2008)
Location: Drucker Center
Dance and create in a different dance form/style each day with the
professional dancers and choreographers of Thodos Dance Chicago! Hip
Hop, Jazz, Ballet and Modern will be featured with a special Friday
morning Pilates. Start each day with a technique class in a
different dance form and then tap into your own creative spirit as
together we choreograph a new dance in each style-every day! Have
fun as we also dive into the history of each dance form and end the
week on Friday with an exciting in-house performance for an audience
that will include the four dances that we create together during the
week. Bring a bag lunch.

City Slickers Day Camp - register online

Gather ‘round the bonfire and join us for camp at Menomonee Club! Kids will get the authentic camp experience right here in Chicago (without the bugs). Each day will feature music, games, arts and crafts and most of all, fun! Bring a sack lunch and brush up on your favorite camp songs! Taught by our experienced Menomonee staff members.

Theatre 101 - register online

Location: Menomonee Clubhouse
Arts and crafts! Puppets and costumes! Storytime and theatre games! A fun, hands-on introduction to all things theatre especially for this age group. Each day will center on a different aspect of theatre. Bring a lunch or snack each day! (No performance) Taught by Amy Ewaldt-Doseck.

Charming Little One Acts - register online
Grades: 1-8 (grade of child in Fall 2008)
Location: Drucker Center
Learn the dos and don’ts of theatre, including auditioning, warm-ups, improv, basic stage combat, crew and more. Students will work in a highly-structured ensemble to create their final show, “Charming Little One Acts.” All children will play very active parts both onstage and backstage. Register early so you don’t miss out! Bring a lunch, comfy clothes and water bottle each day! Show on Friday at 2:00pm. Taught by Amy Ewaldt-Doseck.
Previous adaptations were: A tribute to Shel Silverstein, The Wolves in the Walls and Chrysanthemum. This year’s adaptations to be announced.

Come out, come out, wherever you are! I want all of my talented stars back for a musical extravaganza! All the best from years past plus students’ choice input this year! Extra emphases this year on auditioning, commonly used dance steps and acting! Join us as we showcase your talent in an afternoon performance of solos, duets and trios called “Scenes and Songs.” We will focus on acting technique, improv, vocal techniques, movement and choreography. Based on your comfort level, you can be the star of a solo, duet or trio. Please bring a bag lunch, comfy clothes, dance shoes (whatever you have) and water. Show on Friday at 2:00pm. Taught by Amy Ewaldt-Doseck.
