Boys Basketball League | Ages: 8-10 – Register Online
Come out and play this basketball season as 3Point Athletic’s team of engaging and knowledgeable instructors create a productive, positive and fun basketball experience for everyone! Players will have one weekday practice that will include drills and activities to help improve in all skill components of the game, both individual and team concepts. The one-hour games held on Saturdays between 12:30 and 3:30pm provide guaranteed playing time for all players. Register for your desired individual practice time. Please note: players will be placed into appropriate skill level groups per coach discretion.

Boys Jr. Basketball League | Ages: 6-8 – Register Online
Girls Jr. Basketball League | Ages: 6-9 – Register Online
Join our exciting basketball league designed exclusively for first through third graders. The league focuses on instructional play until the New Year, when players will be assigned to teams for weekly games. Games will be played at the scheduled class times. 3Point’s team of enthusiastic, motivated and well-informed instructors are committed to creating a positive environment as we help each participant improve over the course of the season. This is a great way for your child to join the Menomonee basketball tradition. Baskets are lowered to nine feet for this program. Team shirt and season-ending trophy are provided.

Girls Basketball League | Ages: 9-12 – Register Online
With 10 years of experience running quality, instructional youth basketball programs in Chicago, 3Point Athletics is excited to bring their dedication to the Menomonee youth basketball leagues. Knowledgeable coaches will run weekly clinics and games focusing on fundamental individual and team concepts of the sport, with the ultimate goal of overall improvement during the season. 3Point is committed to keeping each player excited about learning and participating in the sport. All players will have guaranteed playing time as we help build their confidence with a positive teaching approach and stress strong work habits and sportsmanship to improve their character on and off the court. Practices are once a week and games are Saturdays between 11am and 1pm. Register for your individual practice time.
Please note: players will be placed into appropriate skill level groups per coach discretion.

DEA Nation Volleyball | Grades: SK-8 – Register Online
Our youth programs for children K-8th grades introduce the pass, set, spike, and serve using volleyballs appropriate for their age. Practice plans are designed to improve your child’s hand-eye coordination, footwork, game IQ, and court awareness through a variety of drills and games.

 

Volley Youth | Grades: SK-2 – Register Online Our K-2nd grade class will utilize drills and games to introduce the basic skills and form of passing, setting, and spiking using a very light volleyball. We will help your child build a foundation of volleyball skills and excitement for the sport.

Fencing Club | Ages: 6–Adult – Register Online
Fun and educational classes provide a great introduction to fencing and a forum for more advanced training. Taught by Tsanko Hantov and Windy City Fencing. Tsanko competed in the 2000 Olympic Games and won a Bronze medal at the 2001 World Cup (England) in the Modern Pentathlon. He was a National Senior Champion in 1998, a National Junior Champion in 1995, and a 1996 Men’s Epee in Bulgaria. Tsanko has been the owner and head coach of Windy City Fencing since 2005. A graduate of the National Sports Academy, Sofia, Bulgaria, he has extensive experience training fencers at all levels. Instructor approval is needed for all advanced classes. Learn the classic Japanese Olympic/Paralympic sport from our award-winning staff of certified Black Belts. Menomonee Judo has become one of the largest and most successful Judo clubs in the United States. The program has produced countless local, regional, national and international champions over the years. The Judo Club is led by Sensei Brett Wolf, the 2013 United States Olympic Committee Paralympic Judo Coach of the Year. Taekwondo | Ages: 3 & Up – Register Online
These action-packed classes feature the secret arts and awesome techniques of Taekwondo (a Korean martial art). An Olympic sport utilizing exciting blocks, kicks, and punches, Taekwondo also develops control and self-discipline. Taekwondo teaches techniques that can be used for both self-defense and competition. Students will be instructed by Grand Master Kidd, a certified and licensed instructor by the United States Taekwondo Union, holds an eighth degree black belt (World Taekwondo Federation), is Kukkiwon Certified, and is the highest ranked non-Korean martial artist in Illinois. He has over 20 years of teaching experience. It is recommended, but not required, for students to take classes twice weekly.

Thodos Ballet Program Overview | Ages: 3-18 – Register Online

Ballet is the basis for all forms of dance. Students will learn ballet technique including positions, proper alignment, conditioning and terminology.

The young Ballet I dancer will develop poise and musicality and will acquire a foundation in the movement vocabulary, French terminology, and etiquette of this elegant dance form. Thodos Dance Modern Program | Ages 7-18 – Register Online

Modern dance is a term usually referring to 20th-century concert dance. Modern dance refuses classical ballet’s stress on feet as the primary catalyst for dance movements. It instead puts stress on torso employing such elements as contact-release, floor work, fall and recovery, and improvisation. It is usually performed in bare feet, often with non-traditional costuming.

Experienced dancers will embrace the process of creating dance. In this class, students will explore the expressive power of movement by learning how quality, motivation and aesthetics mold and form dance. The class will also incorporate improvisation and composition to enhance the dancer further by having them independently create movement.
This class will be a rewarding challenge physically and mentally to take young dancers to the next level in their training.

Join Culture Shock Chicago, one of the city’s premiere hip hop dance companies, in furthering your dance training. Hip hop dance refers to dance styles primarily dance to hip hop music or that have evolved as part of hip hop culture. This includes a wide range of styles, notably breaking, locking, and popping.

A great place to start for little ones interested in a new dance style or have never taken dance classes before. They will be taken through the basic elements of dance, step-by-step, and classes will focus on rhythm, counting, body isolations, placement, repetition of movements, and common vocabulary.

Little Hoopers Youth Basketball | Boys and Girls Ages: 3–5

Shirley Ryan Ability Lab | Ages: 7–17, youth with physical disabilities

The Caring for Kids program provides year-round adaptive sports and recreation programs including two 4-week summer camps for youth ages 7–17 with physical disabilities. Caring for Kids also offers weekly judo in partnership with the Menomonee Judo Club on Saturdays.  The program also provides dance, yoga and karate classes at the Drucker Center through Yoga for the Special Child and Thousand Wave Martial Arts and Self-Defense Center.
